Yang (阳) describes the active, bright, warm, outward, and initiating side of complementary pairs. It complements yin—neither is complete alone.
Examples
- Day, summer, sunlight, speech
- Action, leadership, visibility
- Solid lines in I Ching hexagrams
In Practice
Too much yang in a space: harsh light, noise, overstimulation. Too little: lethargy, lack of direction. Balance matters.
